Photo Day photo-op a hit with fans
Season ticket holders got an up-close look at the Yankees Sunday morning during a Photo Day session some three hours before their game against the Mariners at Yankee Stadium. All the players, even those on the disabled list such as Mariano Rivera, Alex Rodriguez, Andy Pettitte and Brett Gardner, lined up to greet the fans from foul pole to foul pole on the warning track of the Stadium outfield.
Fans were permitted to shake hands and fist pump with the players as well as to take photographs of them individually but not together with them. Despite the heat and intense humidity of the uncomfortable weather, the players seemed to enjoy themselves. Not surprisingly, fan favorite Nick Swisher appeared to have the most fun inter-acting with those assembled.
The fans, naturally, had a ball. Relatives should look for plenty of photos coming to them over the various social media.
